Dubai: A Vishnu temple has been discovered by Pakistani and Italian archaeologists in northwest Swat district of Pakistan.
The temple is believed to have been constructed during the Hindu Shahi period 1300 years back.
The Hindu Shahis or Kabul Shahis were a Hindu dynasty that ruled Kabul Valley, Gandhara (now Pakistan Afghanistan) and northwest parts of India during 850 to 1026 CE.
A cantonment, watchtowers and water tank were found.
The Swat district has many places of Buddhist worship as well.
