Bhadrak: The authorities in Odisha’s Bhadrak ordered the closure of 131 schools in four blocks of the district on Thursday in view of the prevailing flood situation, waterlogging and ongoing restoration work.
According to the order issued by the Collector and District Magistrate, schools in Dhamnagar, Chandbali, Bhadrak and Tihidi blocks will remain closed for the day. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure keeping the safety and well-being of students in mind.
The administration said further decisions on reopening will be taken after reviewing the waterlogging situation on the ground.
District authorities have also directed school headmasters to thoroughly sanitise drinking water sources in schools before resuming classes once the situation normalises to prevent any post-flood waterborne health hazards.
