Puri: Odisha Police have made elaborate security arrangements for the Rath Yatra, which will be held on July 4.
Additional DGP Sanjeeb Panda said 136 platoons of police will be deployed.
Besides, two companies of RAF and three companies of Odisha Swift Action Force (OSAF) will be engaged.
Senior officers assigned specific responsibilities for crowd control, cordon, traffic and VIP security will also be deployed during the chariot festival.
No passenger vehicle will be charged toll gate fee during Rath Yatra, Bahuda and Suna Besha festivals of the sibling deities in Puri.
Five ambulances will be stationed along the National Highway between Puri and Bhubaneswar from July 1 to 15 for the safety of the passengers.
