1382 Panchayats Set For Voting In 3rd Phase Of Polls In Odisha Tomorrow; Details Here

Bhubaneswar: With campaign ending on Friday evening, the stage is set for third phase polling of the panchayat elections in the state on Sunday.

According to a release of State Election Commission (SEC), the third phase of the ongoing panchayat elections will be held in 29 of total 30 districts.

As many as 56,53,405 voters will exercise their franchise in 18,495 wards of 1382 panchayats and 171 zilla parishad seats in 63 blocks. Total 679 candidates are contesting for zilla parishad seats, while 2773 booths have been identified as sensitive.

The officials have left with necessary document for their assigned places to conduct the elections. Adequate police arrangement has also been made in each polling booth.

As announced by the SEC earlier, the polling will begin at 7 am and end at 1 pm.

The fourth phase of election will be held on February 24, while the fifth and last phase is scheduled on February 24. The counting of votes will be conducted in a phased manner for three days from February 26 to 28.
