Berhampur: Fourteen students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Berhampur have bagged medals in the two-day Odisha Skills Competition 2021 held at Bhubaneswar on August 26 and 27.
Of 43 students of ITI Berhampur who participated in the competition, 14 students came out victorious in six events like Landscape Gardening, Electrical Installations, Painting, Plumbing and Heating and Brick Laying.
They bagged 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals. Besides medals and certificates, the winners were given cash award of Rs 25,000 for first position, Rs 20,000 for second and Rs 15,000 for third rank.
About 400 students from different ITIs and polytechnic institutions in the state participated in the competition.
Principal of the ITI Rajat Kumar Panigrahi congratulated the students for their achievement. Subrat Bagchi, Chief of Odisha Skill Development Authority, Minister Premananda Nayak, secretary Hemant Sharma and Director, Technical Education Reghu Ji distributed the prizes on the concluding day of the event.
