Bhubaneswar: A huge python was rescued from a road near Odisha capital on Thursday evening.
Some local people spotted the snake crossing the road near the battery factory of Exide company at Barang near Bhubaneswar in the evening. Alarmed by the huge size of the snake, they informed the Snake Helpline.
Asish Behera, a member of the Snake Helpline went to the spot and rescued it. He identified as an adult python. On measurement, it was found to be 15 feet in length.
Later, Asish took the python in a vehicle to the office of Chandaka forest range. After the snake was found to be in good health during checking, the Forest officials released it in a forest on the outskirts of the city.
