Cuttack: A bus carrying 30 Odisha natives from Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram reportedly dropped 15 passengers at OMP Square in Cuttack on Monday.
According to sources, the migrants contacted their respective district administrations, which asked them to make their own arrangements to reach the quarantine centres.
With no help coming their way, two among them started walking towards Jagatsinghpur from there.
There were 15 migrants from Kendrapada and as many from Jagatsinghpur in the bus.
The bus had permission to drive them till Cuttack, but those from Kendrapada bribed the driver and convinced him to drive them further to their destination, the sources said.
Taking strong exception to some returnees from other states deboarding from buses en route to the designated destination, the Odisha government on May 6 had warned of strict action against the driver or any other person in charge of the bus.
