Cuttack: At least 15 persons were injured as a truck hit a Mo Bus from behind in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Saturday.
According to sources, the accident took place when the bus, carrying around 60 passengers, was going on National Highway at Pratapnagari. The truck coming in a high speed crashed to the back side of the bus. As a result, the passengers sitting in the back seats of the bus were injured.
The local rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers from inside the bus. The passengers had sustained injuries mostly due to the breaking of back windshield and side glasses of the vehicle.
Some of them were also trapped between the mangled seats. They were admitted in SCB Medical College and Hospital in the city. The truck driver fled following the accident.
On being informed, police team went to the spot and started investigation. They also made arrangements for transporting the injured passengers. They have launched a manhunt to trace the absconding truck driver.
