Kamakhyanagar: Fifteen members of a picnic party were injured when a bus in which they were travelling overturned near Khairamunda Chhak under Parjang police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district in the early morning hours on Monday.
Reports said 45 members of a picnic party from Angul had gone to Balasore on a private bus on Saturday evening. On the way to Angul, the driver lost control of the vehicle which skidded off the road and overturned in a field.
Following information, police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to the community health centre (CHC) at Mandalpal while some of the injured were later referred to the district headquarters hospital in Angul.
However, the condition of all the injured are stable, hospital sources said.
Police suspect that the mishap took place as the driver might have dozed off during the night-long drive.
Investigation is on.
