Balasore: As many as fifteen students fell ill while conducting experiment in the laboratory of a private school at Balia in Balasore district on Thursday.
The incident took place when some Class VIII students of Saraswati Sishu Mandir were experimenting with chemicals for a demonstration in the chemistry class. The students reportedly complained of nausea, vomiting and some even fainted after inhaling some toxic gas, which emitted from the experiment, police said.
The ailing students were rushed to Balasore district headquarters hospital for treatment. The doctors at the hospital said the student might have inhaled some poisonous gases, which caused the irritation. Condition of six children is stated to be critical.
