Jajpur: A 15-year-old girl was killed in a road mishap while she was on her way to tuition, on NH-16 near Rathia Chhak in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday.
The deceased, Sweta Behera, was on a scooter with her elder sister riding pillion when she lost control and rammed it into a truck parked on the highway around 8 am. She died on the spot. Her injured sister, identified as Sangita, has been admitted to nearby Dharshala hospital.
The deceased was a Class X student and daughter of Santosh Kumar Behera of Neulapur village.
On being informed, Dharmasala police reached the spot and recovered the body.
