Bhubaneswar: The number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 in the state went past 40,000 on Saturday as 1521 more recuperated from the disease and were being discharged from different hospitals.
Of the recovered cases on the day, 272 were reported from Ganjam, 231 from Khurda, and 166 from Cuttack, according to a Health and Family Welfare department tweet.
Similarly, there were 93 recovered cases from Rayagada, 89 from Sundargarh, 80 from Puri, 77 from Kalahandi, 61 from Balasore, 56 from Nayagarh, 54 each from Gajapati and Sambalpur, 52 from Jajpur, 46 from Koraput, 26 each from Bhadrak and Kandhamal, 22 from Malkangiri, 19 from Keonjhar, 16 from Jagatsinghpur, 13 each from Angul, Balangir and Kendrapada and 10 each from Baragarh and Jharsuguda districts.
The number of recovered cases from other districts is as follows:
9 from Sonepur
6 from Mayurbhanj
5 from Boudh
2 from Nabarangpur.
With the day’s figure, the total recovered cases in the state have gone up to 40,726 while there was a record surge of 2496 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
