155 Super Speciality Hospitals In 16 States Provide Health Services Under Odisha’s BSKY

Bhubaneswar: As many as 765 super speciality and world-class hospitals from private sector have partnered with Odisha government for delivering medical services under the Biju Swasthya Kalayan Yojana (BSKY).
This was revealed at a review meeting, chaired by Shalini Pandit, Secretary, Health & Family Welfare department and Chairman of State Health Assurance Society (SHAS).
Considering the progress made in extension of cashless treatment to Odia people in private hospitals both in the state and outside, Pandit directed senior officers of SHAS to keep an eye on the services and facilities available to the patients in the empanelled hospitals.
She also directed the Nodal Officers to scrutinise on daily basis the claims raised against the treatment provided by the hospitals under the government’s flagship health scheme for their payment within the scheduled timeline.
It was also revealed at the meeting that 155 super speciality hospitals from 16 states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Telangana, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have partnered with Odisha for implementation of BSKY. Similarly, 610 hospitals from different districts of the state are under its fold.
Major empanelled hospitals in other states included the Christian Medical College, Vellore; Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, Bengaluru; Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata; Homi Bhaba (HB) Cancer Hospital, Vizag and Sangur; Dr Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati; HB Cancer Hospital, Varanasi; Mahanana Pandit Madan Moham Malaviya cancer Centre, Varanasi; Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer, Mumbai and Tata Memorial, Mumbai.
In Fortis group of hospitals, 24 centres operating at Chennai, Delhi, Deheradun, Vashi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Amritsar, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Noida, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Delhi, Punjab and Kokalata, along with 7 super specialty heart hospitals in Narayana Hrudayalaya group at Bengaluru, Mumbai, Raipur, Kolkata, and Jamshedpur have also accepted BSKY for implementation.
The meeting was told that 54 district coordinators were engaged at district levels both inside and outside the state for visiting the empanelled hospitals regularly and keeping watch on the patient-centric services there. At hospital level, 773 Swasthya Mitras have been engaged to pride necessary assistance to the patients in matters of connecting to doctors, admission in hospital, and processing of their documents for discharge after treatment.
