16 Hardcore Maoists Surrender Before Police

Dantewada: Sixteen hardcore Maoists, carrying cash rewards of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads, surrendered before the Chhattisgarh police at Dantewada late on Thursday.

According to media reports, they are all Janmilitia Commanders and involved in illegal activities. All of them surrendered in presence of Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallav, and other senior officials from CRPF and district police force.

While surrendering, they expressed their desire to lead a normal life and contribute to the development of their areas.

They will be provided monetary assistance in accordance with the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.
