16 Large Projects Of Proposals Received In Make In Odisha 2016 & 2018 Operational, Says Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 16 large projects of the proposals received in Make In Odisha (MIO) programmes in 2016 and 2018 are operational, said Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb on Friday.

In a reply to a question of Congress MLA from Jeypore Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the Minister said total 286 expression of intents were received in the two MIO programmes. Out of those, 164 proposals have been cleared through single window clearance, he added.

He further said of the cleared proposals, 16 large projects with an investment of Rs 5674.56 crore are partially or fully operational. These projects are estimated to generate 5,878 jobs.

Total 84 expression of intents with an investment of Rs 2,03,235 crore for setting up industries in different sectors were received in the MIO-2016. Similarly, 202 expression of intent with an investment of Rs 4,23,114.53 crore were received in the MIO-2018 programme, he said.

While MIO-2016 was organised with a budget of Rs 21.26 crore, around Rs 33.70 crore was spent for MIO-2018, the minister added.
