Bhubaneswar: As many as 17 students in Rourkela and 5 students in Keonjhar, who were part of the Independence Day celebrations, fell ill during parade on Thursday.
In Rourkela, the matter came to light after the students participating in the parade at Sector-22 complained of dizziness and were rushed to a local hospital.
Parents complained about the parade being held in the afternoon amid hot and humid conditions.
Similarly, in Keonjhar, the incident was reported from the Bridge Chowk Ground in Anandpur where the sub-divisional level Independence Day celebration was being held.
The students were rushed to the local sub-divisional hospital and administered first-aid.
According to reports, the weather was hot and humid because of which some students complained of dizziness and five among them fell ill and were hospitalised.
