New Delhi: India reported 1,761 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours on Sunday. This is the lowest single-day spike in about 688 days.
This took the tally to 4,30,07,841, while the active cases dropped further to 26,240, according to Union Health Ministry data.
The toll soared to 5,16,479 with 127 daily fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
The active cases are 0.06 per cent of the total infections. The country’s COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 98.74 per cent, the data showed.
A reduction of 1,562 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
