18 child labourers rescued from Rayagada railway station

Rayagada: In a joint operation by Government Railway Police (GRP) and Childline officials, 18 child labourers were rescued from Rayagada railway station on Saturday.

According to police sources, those rescued include five minor girls and one minor boy, hailing from Kashipur area. They were being trafficked to Tamil Nadu.
A person was arrested in this connection.
The raid was conducted on a a specific information. The police are trying to contact the parents of the children rescued, the sources added.
