18 More NDRF, Fire Personnel Test Corona Positive In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The coronavirus continued to spread among disaster relief personnel who had gone from Odisha to West Bengal on cyclone Amphan duty.

As many as 18 personnel belonging to NDRF and Fire Service of Odisha on Saturday tested positive for coronavirus. They had returned from Bengal after completing the Amphan duty and were accommodated in quarantine centres, according to the Information and Public Relations department.

On Friday, 21 NDRF, ODRAF and Odisha Fire personnel had tested corona positive.

Odisha reported 179 new corona positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the affected tally to 4,856 on Saturday. Of those, 150 were reported from quarantine centres and the rest 29 were detected during contact tracing.

Besides, one more COVID-19 patient succumbed in Puri district taking the toll due to the disease to 12 in the state.
