Bhubaneswar: A total of 186 IT and ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services) companies are functioning in Bhubaneswar, said Electronics & Information Technology, Sports & Youth Services minister Tusharkanti Behera.
Replying to a question from BJP member Mohan Charan Majhi in the State Assembly on Saturday, he said that as per the information from the Software Technology Park of India (STPI), about 80 per cent of the IT professionals from Odisha are presently working in these companies.
The minister further said that the state government has generated Rs 4500 crore revenue from the export of the software products by these IT and ITES companies during the 2019-20 financial year.
Stating that two IT parks have been set up in the state capital, he said the work is underway for a greenfield electronics manufacturing cluster at the Info Valley very soon.
For the development of the IT sectors in Odisha, the state government is going to formulate a viable ICT (Information Communication Technology), the minister added.
