Paralakhemundi: Police have seized 19 stolen motorcycles of reputed models in Paralakhemundi of Odisha’s Gajapati district and arrested one person in this connection.
According to police sources, two persons were involved in stealing the bikes from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. They had hidden the two-wheelers in different places of Paralakhemundi town.
Following reliable information about the stolen bikes, a special team of Paralakhemundi Model police station conducted raid on those places and recovered the vehicles. They also arrested one person in this connection. He was identified as Raghu Pradhan of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh. His accomplice managed to escape during the raid, the sources said.
During questioning, Raghu revealed to the police that they were lifting the bikes from different places of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and selling those to the people in the town and its neighbouring areas. The police have launched a search operation to trace Ragu’s accomplice.
The seized bikes included 7 Royal Enfield Bullet, one KTM, 6 Pulsar, two Apache and 3 Yamaha models, the sources said.
