Bhubaneswar: As many as 2.64 lakh teenagers in the age group of 15-18 years have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the state in the last 4 days.
Revealing this to media persons, here on Thursday, Dr Bijay Panigrahi, director, Family Welfare said the state government started the vaccination drive for the teenagers from January 3.
Stating that the government has been carrying out vaccination in 1,125 vaccination centres across the state, Panigrahi said 80,000 children were vaccinated on Wednesday.
On booster dose for health workers and senior citizens, he said they have to furnish the document of having taken 2 doses of the vaccine at the vaccination centre.
At the same time, he said 27 lakh beneficiaries are yet to receive first dose of COVID vaccine in the state.
It may be mentioned that the registration process for the teenagers in 15-18 age group has started from January 1. They can register on the CoWin app through their Aadhaar Cards and school IDs.
