Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odia litterateur Pandit Dr Antaryami Mishra will be conferred with the first Nabagunjara Samman award by Nabagunjara Sanskruti Manch, a Bhubaneswar-based cultural organisation
Dr Mishra, a reputed columnist and researcher, has been contributing to the study and research in Odia language, grammar, culture and history for the last 50 years. He has also immense contribution to essay and book writing in the vernacular language.
He has already authored around 30 books in these literary fields so far. He was conferred President’s Award for his contribution to research in classical Odia language and book writing in 2019. He is the first person from Odisha to have received the award as an Odia linguist.
Dr Mishra will be conferred Nabagunjara Samman at a function to be organised by ‘Nabagunjara Sanskruti Manch’ in Odisha capital on October 1. He will be felicitated with the award, a citation and a cash reward on the occasion.
Eminent writer and former chief secretary Dr Ajit Kumar Tripathy, well-known writer of children’s literature Das Benhur, founder of the cultural organisation Dr Umakant Mishra and writer, culture analyst and publisher Prashant Bhuyan from Toronto, Canada, are scheduled to attend the function.
