Balasore: The Balasore administration on Monday revealed that a two-year-old girl was among the two persons, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.
She belongs to Berhampur village in Nilgiri block.
The I and PR Department has identified the other positive patient as a 32-year-old man.
Briefing the media here, Nilgiri sub-collector Harishchandra Jena said that the samples of some people of the village were sent for tests on April 17 and the test report received on Sunday confirmed that the girl had contracted the infection.
Stating that all family members of the girl have been kept in institutional quarantine, Jena said that steps are being taken to declare the village and its periphery as containment zone.
