Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested two persons from Bhubaneswar for allegedly duping two youths of over Rs 5 lakh on pretext of providing them jobs in Indian Railways.
According to sources, the arrested persons, Suresh Pariccha and Biswanath Andarpu of Burujang village under Rayagada police station in Gajapati district had allegedly taken Rs 2.20 lakh from Pintu Patra of Sara village under Kasinagar block of the district on assurance of arranging a job in the Indian Railways. The fraudster duo had also taken Rs 3.38 lakh from Jitendra Das of Aloda village of the same block in similar context.
A long time after giving the money, neither Pintu nor Jitendra got appointment letter. When they contacted the fraudsters, the latter evaded them on some plea or the other. Later, the duo absconded from their village and could not be contacted over phone. Realising that they had been duped by Suresh and Biswanath, the victims filed a complaint at Kasingar police station.
Speaking to the media, IIC of Kasinagar police station Sushant Kumar Sahu said on the direction of Gajapati district SP Swati S Kumar, a special police team was formed to investigate into the matter and trace the accused. The police team kept a track of the phone numbers of the fraudsters and traced them in Bhubaneswar.

While Suresh was wanted in connection with a case of fake currency note racket in Purunapatna in Andhra Pradesh, Biswanath faces other cases in Paralakhemundi police station, the IIC said.
