2 Arrested With 127 Kg Ganja and 5 Country-Made Guns In Odisha’s Kandhamal

Berhampur: Two firearm dealers have been arrested at Baliguda in Odisha’s Kandhamal district with five country-made guns, four gun butts and 127 kg of ganja valued at over Rs 6 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Balia Pradhan (30) of Takimaha and Sujan Bidhani (50) of Gluda.

Speaking to the media, Baliguda SDPO Ramendra Prasad said that the arrests were made during patrolling on Saturday night, as a part of the ongoing ‘Operation Prahar’ against narcotic and addictive substances. “Pradhan was caught with two country-made guns, while Bidhani was intercepted near his village with around 127 kg of ganja, four gun butts and three country-made guns,” he said.

Further investigation is underway to locate the manufacturing units and ascertain the supply chain, he added.
