Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police arrested two brothers staying in Salia Sahi slum of Bhubaneswar for allegedly peddling brown sugar on Friday.
According to sources, a team from Maitri Vihar police station in the city conducted a raid near Ekamraswar Prakalpa Vidyalaya following reliable information about drug peddling by the brothers. The police team apprehended the duo from the spot.
The police recovered six gram of brown sugar from the possession of the due and took them into custody. The accused were identified as Chiku Swain (32) and Chintu Swain (30) of Kalaka village under Niali police station in Cuttack district. But they were staying in Salia Sahi for some time.
During interrogation, the two brothers confessed to the police that they have been selling brown sugar in the locality. The duo has been forwarded to the court.
