2 Cousins Die After Drowning In Pond In Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, two cousin brothers drowned in a village pond in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district while taking a bath on Thursday.

As per sources, the incident took place at Ekatali village under the jurisdiction of Kamakhyanagar police station in the district. The deceased have been identified as Ganeswar Behera and Subham Behera, both aged around 8 years.

Locals said the two cousins had been to a pond for a bath before going to a temple on the occasion of Bada Osha festival in the morning. While taking a bath, both drowned in the pond.

As they did not return home for a very long time, the family members and villagers started searching for the two. They found shoes of the boys near the pond following which they searched for them in the water body.

Following a thorough search operation, the locals recovered the bodies.

After receiving information, a team from Kamakhyanagar police station visited the site and initiated a probe into the incident.
