Cuttack: At least two persons, including a woman, sustained serious burn injuries after a major fire broke out at a two-storey building in CDA area of Cuttack city.
The exact cause of the fire was yet to be determined. The fire broke out in the building located in Sector-7 of CDA late on Thursday.
Sources said a young man and a woman who were inside the building suffered critical burns. They were rescued and immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Other occupants of the house managed to escape with minor injuries.
The fire spread rapidly, destroying many household belongings and reducing vehicles parked nearby, including a car and 2 two-wheelers, to ashes.
After getting information, fire service personnel arrived at the scene and managed to douse the flame, preventing further damage.
An investigation is in progress to ascertain the cause of the fire. Further details are awaited.
