2 Critical As Oxygen Cylinder Of Ambulance Explodes In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: In a freak incident, two persons were injured after an oxygen cylinder exploded inside an ambulance on the premises of the sub-divisional hospital at Titilagarh in Odisha’s Balangir district on Friday.

Sources said the incident took place when a woman along with her newborn twins was being shifted to another hospital for treatment.

While the woman and her newborn twins narrowly escaped, two of her relatives sustained critical injuries in the explosion. Both have been admitted to the sub-divisional hospital for treatment. Their condition was stated to be critical.

As per information, Rushabh Jani of Manichera had admitted his wife to the hospital and he had to shift her to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir for further treatment after she gave birth to the twin.
As they were about to board the ambulance, the oxygen cylinder exploded, causing injuries to two relatives.
While hospital authorities said the explosion took place while connecting the oxygen cylinder, a probe has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the blast.
