Bhadrak: The Bhadrak district administration has announced a two-day holiday for schools due to flood-like situation caused by rising water level in Baitarani river.

Around 25 schools in Sahada, Arjunpur, Hasinabad and Pradhani panchayats, under Dhamnagar block, will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday.

A fresh low pressure is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal, off Odisha-West Bengal coasts, during the next 36 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.

Under its influence, several districts in Odisha are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity over the next three to four days.

Bhadrak is among 16 districts where Yellow warning has been issued.

The intensity of rain is likely to increase from August 25.
