Jajpur: A trip to seek Maa Tarini’s blessings ended on a tragic note when two occupants of a car died and five were injured after it rammed a truck on NH-16 in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Biswajit Maiti and Diptaprabha Panda. They died on the spot.
According to sources, the accident took place at Mulapala Chhak under Kuakhia police limits when seven persons from Erasama block in Jagatsinghpur district were on their way to Ghatagaon Taraini in Keonjhar early this morning.
The injured were admitted to Dharmasala hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the accident could have occurred due to poor visibility as a thick blanket of fog engulfed several places in the state.
