Cuttack: Clash over a patch of land between two groups of people in Badamba block of Athagarh sub-division in Odisha’s Cuttack district led to the death of two persons on Tuesday. Ten others were injured.
According to reports, residents of Bhagatpur and Budhapanka villages were at loggerheads over ownership of a patch of government land since long.
The deceased are Ashwini Pal and Pabitra Arukh. The injured were taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
Protesting the deaths, the villagers placed the bodies on Cuttack–Narasinghpur State Highway 65, blocking movement of traffic.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. A platoon of police force has been deployed in the area to avert any untoward incident, said sources.
