Bhubaneswar: Two persons died while four other sustained critical injuries after a van collided with a Hyva truck near Aryan Chhak at Koida in Odisha’s Sundargarh on Friday morning.
According to sources, the accident took place at around 8.15 am when the van, carrying labourers, was en route to Kamanda Steel Plant. The van driver and one labourer died on the spot as the vehicle was badly damaged after being struck by the truck. The injured were initially treated at Koida Community Health Centre before being shifted to Rourkela Government Hospital due to worsening conditions.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
Police have seized the truck and detained the driver for questioning.
