Angul: Two persons, including a woman, were killed after their bike was squeezed between two trucks on National Highway No. 55 in Odisha’s Angul district on Sunday.
The mishap took place when the two were proceeding towards Angul from Badkera area on the highway and a speeding truck dashed against their bike from behind.
As a result, their bike dashed rammed into a truck on their front. In the process, they got crushed between the two trucks and died on the spot, sources said.
Tension prevailed in the area for some time following the accident as angry locals staged a demonstration. Vehicular movement was disrupted on the highway for some time.
The drivers of both the trucks have fled the scene and police have seized the two vehicles. The bodies were sent for postmortem, but the identity of the deceased was yet to be established.
