2 Die, One Critical As Car Crashes Into Tree In Odisha’s Konark

Bhubaneswar: Two persons died while another sustained critical injuries as the car in which they were travelling crashed into a tree on Gop-Konark Road in Odisha’s Puri district, late on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Biswajit Sahoo of Niali and Pradipta Behera of Bhubaneswar.

Tapas Sahu, the driver of the vehicle, escaped narrowly with a fractured leg. He was initially admitted at Gop Hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar. His condition is stated to be critical.

According to sources, the accident occurred as the diver lost control over the vehicle and rammed a Mango tree when en route to Konark from Bhubaneswar. It is also being suspected that the driver was speeding and might have dozed off while driving.

The car was completely damaged in the mishap.

Police have seized the vehicle and launched an investigation.
