Bhubaneswar: Two drug peddlers were arrested and brown sugar valued at more than Rs 60 lakh seized from them by Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off illegal drug trade ahead of new year celebrations, personnel of the special crime unit carried out raids near the flyover at CRPF Square in the city and nabbed the two drug peddlers.
The police team also seized around 660 grams of brown sugar from the two. The seized contraband was valued at more than Rs 60 lakh, sources said.
The arrested drug peddlers, who belong to Balasore and Jaleswar, are being interrogated as part of investigation to ascertain their network.
