2 Drunk Men ‘Feast’ On Half-Burnt Human Flesh At Cremation Ground In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: In a shocking incident, two inebriated men were allegedly caught feasting on half-burnt human flesh at a cremation ground near a village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The incident, which reportedly took place near Bandhasahi village under the jurisdiction of Badasahi police station on Tuesday, has shocked people in the area.

The two, identified as Sundar Mohan Singh (58) and Narendra Singh (25) of Dantuni village, have been detained by the police for questioning in this connection.

According to sources, cremation of a 25-year-old woman who died following some illness was underway at the crematorium on Tuesday when the duo pulled out a portion of the half-burnt body and started eating it.

Infuriated over the incident, the family members and relatives of the deceased caught the two, thrashed both and handed them over to police. Shocked over the incident, the villagers demanded stern action against the two for eating human flesh and violating the customs of the local community.

Police said the two. who committed the act in an inebriated state, have been detained for questioning. One of the accused is stated to be a sorcerer. Investigation is in progress, a police official said.
