Baripada: Two engineering students of a polytechnic were reportedly killed in a bike mishap in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the two young boys, studying in SS Institute of Technology (Polytechnic) at Kalakad in the district, were going on a motorcycle to some unknown place.
The locals found both of them lying dead and their bike damaged on Thakurmunda-Kaptipada road under Karanjia police limits in the district.
On being informed by the locals, a police team from Karanjia went to the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
While the exact cause of the two students’ death has not been ascertained, the police suspected that their bike might have skidded off the road after the rider lost control. They also did not rule this out as a hit and run case, the sources said.
