Nuapada: Two persons sustained injuries when a car, in which they were travelling, went up in flames near Powertala village in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the car, bearing a Chhattisgarh number plate, was travelling at high speed when the driver lost control, leading to a crash. The impact triggered a fire that quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Local residents rushed to the spot and managed to rescue the two occupants, who were then admitted to the district headquarters hospital here. Their condition is stated to be stable.
Police have launched a probe to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident in which the car was reduced to ashes.
