Bhubaneswar: Two persons were arrested for allegedly duping job aspirants of lakhs of rupees by making false promise of providing employment in Bhubaneswar.
The arrest was made by Chandrasekharpur police following a complaint lodged by a man alleging that the two had duped hom of huge money on the pretext of giving a job in Utkal Univesrsity, sources said.
Several incriminating documents have also been seized from the possession of the two fraudsters, who have allegedly cheated many other people with similar promise. The two were suspected to have extracted lakhs or rupees from gullible job seekers.
The racket came to light after one of the victims lodged complaint with the police. The accused had promised to give him the job of a library attendant in Utkal University. The man approached the police as the appointment letter sent by the fraudsters looked suspicious.
The two accused persons are being interrogated by the police and further details are awaited.
