Sundargarh: A man allegedly hacked two persons to death following an argument over a trivial issue at a village in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The incident, which reportedly took place at Amarudi village under the jurisdiction of K Bolang police station on Saturday, came to light on Monday after the 35-year-old accused surrendered before the police.
The accused, identified as Jura Munda of Amarudi village, was reported to have confessed to the crime while surrendering.
As per reports, an argument ensued between the accused and two of his fellow villagers – Charan Burwelli (24) and Janka Sundhi (45) – after he reportedly ate a dead chicken on December 16.
In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly attacked the two villagers with an axe and killed them. He dumped the bodies in a nearby nullah to destroy the evidence.
The family members of the two deceased persons launched a frantic search for the duo but were unable to trace them.
However, the accused reached the police station on Monday and informed the cops about the incident. The bodies were recovered from the nullah and the police have launched an investigation. The accused is being interrogated, police said.
