Rourkela: Two men were arrested in Bisra area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday for allegedly opening fire at a youth in an attempt to murder.
The prime accused and his associate were taken i
nto custody in connection with an alleged shooting incident that took place in Bisra area on Monday evening, a police official said.
The incident took place after the accused persons entered into an argument with some youths near a cricket ground. Amidst the verbal duel, one of the accused suddenly took out a pistol and opened fire. However, no one was injured in the firing, he said.
Based on a complaint lodged by a youth, police arrested the two and seized the pistol. The two have been booked for attempt to murder and illegal possession of pistol without licence. Further investigation is in progress.
