2 Held For Opening Fire At Youth In Odisha’s Sundargarh

Rourkela: Two men were arrested in Bisra area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday for allegedly opening fire at a youth in an attempt to murder.

The prime accused and his associate were taken into custody in connection with an alleged shooting incident that took place in Bisra area on Monday evening, a police official said.

The incident took place after the accused persons entered into an argument with some youths near a cricket ground. Amidst the verbal duel, one of the accused suddenly took out a pistol and opened fire. However, no one was injured in the firing, he said.

Based on a complaint lodged by a youth, police arrested the two and seized the pistol. The two have been booked for attempt to murder and illegal possession of pistol without licence. Further investigation is in progress.
