Keonjhar: Two persons were arrested and a huge quantity of foreign liquor seized from them by Excise department sleuths in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Friday.
According to sources, the mobile squad of the Excise department seized the foreign liquor worth lakhs of rupees when after intercepting a vehicle onn National Highway No. 20 in the district.
Acting on an information about the transportation of illegal liquor from Jharkhand to Odisha, the excise officials launched an operation. The mobile squad reached the spot in the guise of common people.
The team members found the illegal liquor in the vehicle after it was intercepted. They seized the liquor, the vehicle and arrested two persons in the connection.
