Phulbani: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha police apprehended two wildlife smugglers and seized a leopard hide from their possession in Kandhamal district.
Acting on a tip-off regarding illegal dealing of leopard hide team of STF carried out raids at Pakhalakhia village under the jurisdiction of Chakapada police station in the district.
During the special operation, the STF team seized a leopard hide along with other wildlife products and arrested two wildlife slugglers, sources said.
The accused have been been identified as poacher Jasobant Kanhar and dealer Alok Kanhar.
As the accused failed to produce any authority in support of the possession of the leopard skin, they have been arrested and further investigation is in progress.
