Nabarangpur: At least seven members of a family, including two minors, fell critically ill after consuming mushrooms at Pulra village under the Jharigaon block of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Thursday.
They have been identified as Hirasingh Bhara (55), Tularam Bhatra (36), Kamal Bhadra (53), Kalam Bhara (33), Sahadev Badra (8), and Bijay Bhara (5).
According to sources, Hirasingh had gone to the nearby jungle to collect ‘Sravann Chhatu’ (mushroom which grows in the rainy season). After the family consumed mushroom curry, they complained of dizziness and nausea and started vomiting.
They were rushed to Umerkote Community Health Centre (CHC) and were provided emergency medical treatment.
