2 Killed, 1 Critical In Truck-Auto Collision In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Two persons died while another sustained critical injury after a truck and an autorickshaw collided at Luhurapali square under Saitala police limits in Balangir district on Thursday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Subala Sahoo (43) of Sishakela village and Kaibalya Majhi (62). The injured person is Debashis Sahoo.

According to sources, the accident took place when sweet sellers Subala, Kabalya and Debashis were on their way to the Kalahandi market in an autorickshaw.

On being informed, Saintala Tehsildar Jogeswar Dharua, Saintala and Badamala police and Fire personnel reached the spot and started an investigation.

While Debashis was admitted to a hospital at Saintala, police detained the truck driver and helper.

Demanding compensation for the bereaved families, the villagers later blocked the road.
