Berhampur/ Jagatsinghpur: At least two persons were killed while three others sustained critical injuries in separate lightning strikes in Ganjam and Jagatsinghpur districts on Wednesday.
A woman identified as Kumari Gaud was killed after being struck by thunderbolt at Asurabandha village under Sorada police limits in Ganjam district. Three women, who sustained critical injuries in the incident, were rescued by villagers and rushed to Sorada hospital.
Similarly, a man identified as Dharmananda Das died due to lightning strike at Gandhana village under Naugaon police limits in Jagatsinghpur district.
Das had gone to graze cattle to an agricultural field near the village when the mishap took place.
