Phulbani: Two persons were killed and five others seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Kandhamal district on Sunday evening.
The accident took place when an Alto car was going towards G. Udayagiri from Kalinga. At, Raipada turn, the car’s driver lost control and collided with a Swift car coming from opposite direction in high speed.
Two persons identified as Panchanana Sahu of Tikabali and Subash Chandra Behera of Budugudari village died on the spot in the accident.
Following the accident, the locals and Fire personnel rushed to the spot. They rescued five critically injured persons from the vehicles and admitted them in the local hospital. Later the injured were shifted to the MKCG Hospital in Berhampur.
Later, police went to the spot and started investigation.
