Berhampur: At least two persons were killed and five others critically injured in collision between a bike and an auto-rickshaw in Digapahandi area of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday.
As per preliminary information, the mishap took place near Kandasara village under the jurisdiction of Digapahandi police station in the district.
Sources said the accident took place when the motorcycle collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw.
The rider, identified as S Simanchal Reddy and pillion rider Kunti Gauda died on the spot while the occupants of the auto rickshaw sustained critical injuries.
The injured persons have been admitted to Digapahandi Hospital.
Reddy and Gauda were returning to their village from Bankeswari Temple when the mishap occurred
After receiving the information, police visited the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy. A probe has been initiated into the accident.
